First Class Teas

First Class Teas used to be a tea supplier and cafe on Peas Hill; sadly, the shop/cafe closed on 23 December 2008 due (in the owner's words) to "a significant loss of trade during this economic crisis". They may have continued to sell via their website for a while, but as of mid-2010 the company is no more, and the website states that "the company's trade has been purchased by Iford Manor Teas who will be offering a similar range to former FCT customers."

The information below is retained for people who want to know what it used to be like.

Supplier of many interesting and exotic (true) teas and tea accessories, also a cafe serving tea, scones, muffins, etc. With occasional special events (story-telling, etc).

Kake visited on a sunny Tuesday afternoon and had a very nice pot of White Clouds jasmine tea (£3.50) on the recommendation of the young chap behind the counter. He even told me how long to let it brew before pressing the plunger down. I sat outside due to the nice weather – they have two small tables outside, each with seating for two people — but they also have more seating downstairs.

Last visited by Kake, 7 August 2007.
