Osborne Arms

Now closed; was a pub on Hills Road, next door to the Flying Pig.

The May/June 2012 local CAMRA news suggested that it may be about to close, while Beer In The Evening comments from August 2012 state that it now has closed. As of September 2012, the windows are boarded up, but there's no indication of how temporary or permanent this is.

The information below is retained for people who want to know what it used to be like.

Pub on Hills Road, next door to the Flying Pig.

No real ale (there's a handpump, but no clip) — as of September 2010 the only drinks options are Guinness, Guinness Extra Cold, John Smiths Extra Smooth, Bulmers cider (£1.70/half), Fosters, Stella, Carling, and Becks Vier.

It has a pool table, two dartboards, and a jukebox. Decor is quite basic (some have said it's a little down at heel) — exposed floorboards, bright yellow walls, local club notices stuck on pillars, and various trophies displayed on windowsills. Blackboards above the bar advertise crib nights, pool nights, and darts nights.

It used to do quite good Thai food, but as of September 2010 the board outside that used to advertise this has been wiped clean, and there were no menus in evidence inside. They do sell Monster Munch though.

Accessibility: A couple of steps or a very steep ramp to enter. Toilets are down a couple more stairs (with handrail) at the back.
