St Edmund's is a college of the University of Cambridge. Mainly a graduate college, St Edmund's comprises around a hundred mature undergraduates, two hundred postgraduates, and fifty fellows.
The institution traces its origins to the late nineteenth century, with the admission of non-Anglican students to the University: it was founded for the benefit of such students in 1896, but did not become a full college until 1965.
St Edmund's Combination Room (student common room) is particularly comfortable, including ample sofas, and a large plasma TV. The buildings include a late-Victorian hostel and various undistinguished twentieth century buildings, set in ample grounds. The college is not open to the public, and is set back some distance from [Mount Pleasant]?.
