Main information
Content:
Pub on King Street, previously known as the Bun Shop. After being closed by bailiffs in September 2008, the Bun Shop became an annexe to D'Arry's Wine Shop across the road. As of mid-2011, the Cambridge CAMRA newsletter reports that it was being refurbished and would reopen as the Jolly Scholar (as of late 2011, this had indeed happened). As of February 2013, Pints And Pubs reports that it's reopening in yet another guise as the Cambridge Brew House. The information below is retained for people who want to know what it used to be like as the Bun Shop. Note that the photo currently on this page is of the old incarnation.
A pub on King Street; forms part of the King Street run. A slightly odd setup, with the ground floor being split into a standard bar and a restaurant/wine bar, with tapas upstairs in the evening. A decent selection of meals in the bar including generous doorstop sandwiches, with a perfectly acceptable selection of beers that seem reasonable well kept. According to a blackboard outside (photo), they serve English breakfast (including a vegetarian option) until 3pm (as of August 2007). See also: * Beer in the Evening comments * CrawlPlanner comments * Itchy Cambridge review * Ian Kitching's review
