I'm always slightly suspious of any chinese restaurant the first time I visit it. In the past I have found food between different menus highly varible and not always the quality I'd hoped for the price.

Charlie Chan's first good point was the dinning area of the restaurnt was pleasent and the tables able to cope with the large number of people we turned up with (two groups of 10). The service from the start was pleasent and the atmosphere charming.

The food arrived promptly to the table, and was of a high standard. The dishes were also fairly generous in size meaning we order about 7 different dishes for 10 people and no one went hungry. The food also didn't seem so stuffed full of MSG just to fill me up as with some venues; so I stayed full for the rest of the evening.

The bill was at the end only £14 a head inc. service, which include a reasonable amount of drink.

So far probably the best restaurant in Cambridge I have been too. Certainly not one to miss for the chinese food enthusiast.
