Historical version 8 of Chemistry Department (view current version)

The Cambridge University Chemistry Department has little to offer the average resident of Cambridge however for university members with reason to go within the building or for people working nearby, the following may be of use.

In the lobby at the back of the building is now a small Cambridge Blue sandwich bar, replacing the older stand run by a one of the departmental staff. This has resulted in higher prices, slower service and other such issues in a similar vein. The only good thing to say so far is the bread is better, which isn't hard since the old bread was awful. It is probably also worth noting a can of coke costs 65p from the stand but only 50p from the vending machine near by. As it has been only open for a few days at the time of this review, it is quite probable that much will change.

It may also be of interest that there is a cybercafe within the Unilever block of the department which sells coffee for 35p a cup. It also sells a selection of biscuits and muffins, fruit and sandwiches. To use the computers within the cafe you need to have a University Desktop Services (formerly PWF) password, but they are free. If this means nothing to you then it probably should not concern you either.
