Clare Hall is a graduate college of the University of Cambridge, founded in 1966. It comprises around 145 postgraduates and 125 fellows. Based on Hershel Road, the main college buildings are a bizarre collection of red brick buildings, akin to the nearby Robinson College, but with a less defensive aesthetic. The college also incorporates a number of large, late Victorian neo-Tudor houses, characteristic of the Grange Road area. Clare Hall has recently constructed a second court at the end of Herschel Road.
The college is often said to have the finest food in Cambridge.
Clare Hall is a private institution, far from the main visitor routes, and offers little to the typical Cambridge tourist.
The road between the College and the University Rugby Ground is Rifle Range Road; it is private, and not a right of way.
