Historical version 5 of Douglas Reay (view current version)

There are a number of other guides to Cambridge, some of which might well be interested in sharing their existing content under the Creative_Commons license. Has anyone tried contacting:

I mean, how many times does the wheel need reinventing? Mike Miller <pubs@mikewmiller.net> looks to be the main man to ask.

Comment by Kaet: "As many times as it takes to get a round one": I'm not sure you can reasonably describe a city in terms of its pubs and restaurants. There are few integrated guides including information on doctors, parks, playgrounds, car parks, schools, etc, as well as pubs, restaurants, etc, except for fragmentary pages which are inundated with advertising. I can well imagine why there are plenty of guides to the hospitality industry as it's both profitable and enjoyable, whereas taking photos of yet another dentists is neither!

Comment by Kake: I think the idea is partly that the Open Guide can be a way to bring all these sources of information together. See for example the Randomness Guide to London, where we're making an effort to have lots of useful external links for each place listed.
