The Locomotive was a pub on [[Locale Mill Road Area|Mill Road]]. It was shut down in July 2008, following seizure of a quantity of cocaine in a police raid; see [http://www.cambridge-news.co.uk/cn_news_home/DisplayArticle.asp?ID=333179 Cambridge Evening News report]. It may have reopened briefly after that, but eventually closed for good and turned into an Indian restaurant called [http://www.calcutta-club.co.uk/index.html Calcutta Club]. The information below is retained for people who want to know what it used to be like. <div style="padding: 1em; margin: 1em; border: 1px dotted black; font-size: 0.8em"> Pub on Mill Road. Back room often hosts small gigs, usually from local bands, with a regular Blues Night Jam ("Good Question") on the first Friday of the month. Green King ales, plus the usual keg beer. Attracts a predominantly younger clientele, and is popular with [[Anglia Ruskin University]] students. Has a couple of pool tables, and a loud, and eclectic, jukebox. A couple of large TV screens show major football matches, which draws a large crowd. <b>See also:</b> * [http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/comments.shtml/19466/ Beer in the Evening comments] * [http://www.crawlplanner.com/viewpub.php?id=21 CrawlPlanner comments] * [http://www.itchycambridge.co.uk/venues/229.html Itchy Cambridge review] * [http://www.iankitching.me.uk/pubs/loco.html Ian Kitching's review] </div>
