Mai Thai has a lovely view of the park area from its window area. Being situated down the quiet Park Terrace, just outide the main bustle of the city centre, it is in an ideal location to relax and unwind (like from the stresses of work, as I did today!).

The lunch menu provides you with a variety of starters (such as vegetable spring rolls and a small selection of spicy soups) and main courses - the usual Oriental dishes such as sweet and sour, for example, available with different meats such as chicken or - for the more adventurous - squid. Drink-wise, for the alcoholics among you, the wine list is more extensive than the food menu (which includes beers and cocktails), although non-alcoholic drinks are available - J2Os, juices, fizzy drinks, iced coffee, etc.

Although the restaurant was particularly empty when I dined at Mai Thai during my lunch break, having only one waiter on duty meant that the service was, unfortunately, somewhat slow. However, he admittedly was a very friendly and helpful waiter, and the food was delicious! I returned to work a happy employee, completely and utterly stuffed. And for £10 for a starter and a main meal, I thought that was excellent value for money!
