Historical version 3 of Murray Edwards College (view current version)

Previously known as New Hall, Murray Edwards College was refounded under its present name in mid 2008, following a large donation from Ros and Steve Edwards. Ros is an alumna of the college, and Steve is her husband. The new name combines their name with that of the original founder of the college, Dame Rosemary Murray.

Murray Edwards is a modern college of University of Cambridge, amongst a cluster of such colleges in Western Cambridge, and was founded in 1954. The college exclusively admits women, and comprises 360 undergraduates, 70 graduates, and 50 fellows. The distinctive modern buildings, dating from 1956, are listed, and were recently refurbished.

The college recently entered a garden into Chelsea Garden Show, the first college to do so, and won a bronze medal.
