Trinity is a very large, and extremely wealthy college of the University of Cambridge. It comprises around 700 undergraduates, 350 graduates, and 170 fellows. The college was founded in 1546, and most of its significant buildings date from the 16th and 17th centuries. Located in the city centre, the college is a popular tourist destination; a particular focus being the imposing Great Court.
Until recently, the fountain of Great Court was supplied by a pipe, laid by monks in 1327 from a source at Conduit Head Road, near [Madingley Road]?, West Cambridge. This pipe, however, has developed an unlocated leak, and so the fountain is currently fed by mains water.
Trinity boasts that many lauded individuals have been in some way associated with the college, including 31 Nobel prize winners, six prime ministers, and various heads of state. In addition, a variety of traditions, legends, and tall-tales concern the college, the details of which can be found on its website, on Wikipedia, and within specialist tourist guides.
