It's closed and reopened a number of times over the years (some examples below), and seems to go through tenants at an amazing rate, so do check before you commit yourself!

Indeed, our most recent news as of December 2011 is that the pub was placed on the market by Greene King, and has now been sold. We don't know who bought it, nor what they plan to do with it.

As of May 2008 this pub was closed with a board outside from Greene King advertising for a new tenant. As of June 2008, according to cam.misc, it opened again with what was presumably a temporary landlord. The September/October 2008 local CAMRA newsletter reported that it was again fully open, with Greene King IPA and Abbot Ale on.
